About Host City – Jodhpur

Jodhpur District is located in western part of Rajasthan. The history of Jodhpur revolves around the Rathore Clan. Rao Jodha, the Chief of the Rathore Clan, is credited with the origin of Jodhpur in India. He Founded Jodhpur in 1459. The city is Named after him only. It Was Previously Known as Marwar. Jodhpur, the second largest city in Rajasthan is popularly known as the Blue City. It is divided into two parts - the old city and the new city. The old city is separated by a10 km long wall surrounding it. Also it has eight Gates leading out of it. The new city is outside the walled city. Jodhpur is a very popular tourist destination. The landscape is scenic and mesmerizing. Jodhpur city has many beautiful palaces and forts such as Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhavan Palace and Rai ka Bag Palace. Other charms of Jodhpur include Government Museum and it's beautiful Umed Garden.

S.N Medical College, Jodhpur is a distinguished institution located in the state of Rajasthan. Jodhpur, formerly known as Marwar, the capital of the Rajput rulers, has long history of various traditions which are followed till date. Being a place of princely palaces, magnificent forts as well as age old temples, this city of Rajasthan is among the famous tourist destinations in the state as well as India. Positioned in the Thar Desert's stark landscape, Jodhpur experiences a bright and sunny weather all through the year. For this, the city is also known as "Sun City of India". One of the specialties of this metropolitan city is that almost all the houses based around the fort of Mehrangarh are painted in blue color, due to which the city is even known as the "Blue City".
Dr. Sampurnanand Medical College was established in the year 1965 by the Medical & Health Department, Govt. of Rajasthan. The college is affiliated to the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences. The college offers Bachelor and Master Degree Courses in Medical Science
